When Mimoza and Alex booked me and told me they were getting married at Hanbury Wedding Barn I was over the moon. Hanbury Wedding Barn has been on my wish list of venues since it opened and is a dream location of mine.
Hanbury Wedding Barn is a family-run, rustic and stylish new venue set in the heart of a national forest. The venue has a gorgeous ceremony barn that features exposed timber frames and red brick, giving you destination vibes on your wedding day.
Mimoza and Alex opted to use the on-site luxurious bridal preparation suite. This meant that when I arrived on the morning of the wedding it was a really relaxed affair. Prosecco was being popped, hair and makeup was getting done and everyone was in great spirits ready for a day of celebrations. We got really lucky with the weather too and it was glorious. So, once the ceremony had finished and the confetti had been thrown, the glass doors were opened to create a huge open space into the courtyard where they had a band playing music and canapes were served.
During this time we opted to get the group shots and then the couple portraits. The venue features a stunning garden, with a custom built pavilion, and a gorgeous lake which made for the perfect backdrop for our photoshoot.
Once the photos and canopies were finished we headed into the dining area to start on toasts and speeches. The room, once again, featured gorgeous high ceilings and beautiful floor to ceiling windows across the whole wall, which let in lots of beautiful lighting.
One of my favourite times to do couple portraits is during golden hour. I think it’s so romantic and the colours are usually really radiant… It just brings that something extra special to the photos. Myself, Mimoza and Alex decided to go for a little stroll around the venue to capture some of the magical golden hour light and, honestly, it did not disappoint.
After a stunning day at Hanbury Wedding Barn, we decided to end the celebrations with a magical sparkler filled first dance over in the courtyard. So yesss!!! If you want to have your first dance under the stars, Hanbury has the facilities to make this happen.
